2012 - Binah - Skyfall

Continuing our exploration of the Unifying Colour Theory we see that 2012 was the ''Year of Binah'' (1+2 = 3) or Understanding in Hebrew.  There are many films that overtly used black as the dominant colour during this year including Batman; The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, Dark Shadows and obviously Men in Black 3.  We've chosen to explore Skyfall - ''B'' for Bond - but its also important to note in this analysis that while the movie concentrates on Black and the character of the Dark Mother (Binah) played by Judi Dench as ''M'' there are couple of themes that relate to Tifereth (or the Son) but they are present only as Tifereth relate to Binah, not to other Sefiroth.  In the final act of the film we also move to include Chokmah alongside Binah as Bond travels to his fathers estate wearing a grey suit, driving a grey car, etc so its worth having a look over the Cowboys and Aliens analysis again for Chokmah symbolism and also worth noting that they feature the same actor Daniel Craig.

Skyfall (definition: a moment of great sorrow) is a story about Bond faking his own death (crossing the Abyss) and then returning (Teshuvah) to MI6 when the names of British agents are revealed by a massive hacking plot (Tzaphkiel).  The main focus is on the relationship between M (the dark mother) and her stolen orphan sons (Tifereth) - Bond and Silva - that she has trained as government agents.  The battle between Bond and Silva shows her ''light'' son vs her ''dark'' son although both actors are blond or ''yellow'' (Tifereth).  There is something of a contrast between the older infertile dark mother of M (Ama) with the younger black Moneypenny M (Aima). During the pursuit sequences Bond seduces another woman in black, Severine (Severity), and this leads him to the discovery of Silva's lair.  In the final battle Bond wearing a grey (Chokmah) suit drives a grey (Chokmah) car to his father's estate (Chokmah) and wields his father's gun which bears the initials A.B (ab - literally father in Hebrew).  After the Dark Mother M dies, Bond returns to Whitehall (Kether) where he is greeted by a new M and Eve Moneypenny (Aima).
