2019 - Malkuth - Russet Falls III

According to the unifying colour theory established over the last year we are now in the final phase of the Year of Malkuth (2019, 1 + 9 = 10), a phase dominated by the colour palette of russet and by the Rubedo, or ''Red Work'' of the Great Work of Alchemy.  So what is russet exactly?  Below are a number of examples of Russet palettes but what you seem to have is the colour of autumn leaves with various levels of red - and it seems that the level of redness of the russet is being used ritualistically in movies, fashion and the world at large to show the rubedo.  Remember as we established in Joker the reddening represents the birth of the archetypal self and the final death of the ego - so is the world being brought towards mass ego death and the mass birth of our archetypal selves?  Perhaps and its worth remembering this and contemplating the idea as we move through November.

CALIFORNIA WILD FIRES

Well it turns out California was the ''target'' of the Russet phase after all but while I misunderstood my intuition and from the imagery of russet, red and fire I figured it would be a volcanic action what we have is an unprecedented red flag warning in California because of the wild fires.  In terms of staying on message, these wildfires are attributed to climate change.  Netflix also released this Russet doom piece ''Fire in Paradise'' just before this year's fires began to wreak their havoc.

MOVIES OF THE RUSSET PHASE

While we have looked at Ad Astra and Joker in other posts I just want to present a quick image scroll of the movies in the run up to the ''finale'' of  2019.  We will probably find the Rubedo or reddening phase of alchemy incoporated into many of these movies so watch for the increasing intensity of the colour red as it emerges out of the russet palette.  We could also expect to see other symbols of the Rubedo - blood, rose, the crowned king, the phoenix, the figure in red, etc - displayed in a similar, if perhaps less artful way to that of Joker. I will try to find time to do extended analyses of these movies in the future.
